What Is Emerging
Notes from the unfolding of The Clearing
Hey everyone,
A few weeks ago I sent a message called There Is Another Way To Live, sharing some of the deeper clarity that had been unfolding around the freedom from unnecessary suffering and the weight many of us are carrying each and every day. I also mentioned the I was taking some space as something else felt it was coming through.
I wanted to send a small update because a bit more time has passed than I originally expected since that message.
First of all, a quick personal update. I’ve now fully moved to Edinburgh and I’m feeling really good here. There’s a beautiful balance between nature, city, wide open spaces, tradition, and new beginnings.
My days are quite slow, spacious, and even more alive lately. The more I stopped trying to predict or over-manage everything, the more clearly life seems to reveal what actually matters and where it naturally wants to move.
It feels right to be back on home soil and putting down roots again after so long.
Additionally, over the past month, I’ve been allowing something to emerge in its own time. A lot has been becoming clearer.
What is emerging
What’s emerging is a readiness to finally share more fully, the deeper clarity thats been integrating for me this last while.
It is about ending the inner struggle but thats not all.
It’s about how we create, how we bring things into form, and how we participate in life when fear, urgency, pressure, confusion, identity, proving, or the need to bend life to our will are no longer the driving force.
And yes, it is very much about community and sharing the journey, especially on the deeper path.
A word on Certainty
At the centre of a lot of what has been emerging is a very simple recognition: Life is uncertain, and that is not a problem.
Most suffering begins when the mind tries to turn uncertainty into something that must constantly be solved, predicted, managed, or secured before we can finally relax. But life cannot be controlled. As long as the mind insists life should be certain, it remains in conflict with reality - and conflict with reality is suffering.
There is relief available here, but it does not come from finally getting certainty. It comes from no longer demanding certainty from life before allowing ourselves to fully live it. Strangely, the more directly life is met in all its uncertainty, the more alive it starts to feel and the more it seems to bloom in unexpected, profoundly aligned ways.
The Clearing
Some of you may remember that I originally began opening something called The Clearing just over a year ago. But I suddenly realised that I needed to step away and go through a much deeper clearing process myself, so I took a step back and let life lead me.
Over these past weeks, I’ve been writing what is becoming the Genesis Document for it - a foundational document exploring many of the deeper struggles beneath modern life, the hidden patterns that continue to get in our way and cause disconnection, and what happens when we begin relating to life, expression, and each other in a more conscious, connected, and grounded way.
A central question shaping it is: What becomes possible when human beings no longer need to carry so much alone? Not only emotionally or mentally, but relationally, creatively, and existentially too.
What happens when there is:
Less pressure to be somebody
Less image management
Less inner war
Less isolation
More shared humanity, presence, and direct contact with life
The more this unfolds, the more obvious it becomes that this is not simply a project, teaching, or community in the usual sense. It feels more like the beginning of a shared space built around the return to real freedom, human connection, and conscious participation in life.
It’s a space where people can show up more openly, relate more authentically, and let what wants to express get expressed, with less gripping, worry, resistance or attachment. It is about learning how to meet life fully without the need to secure ourselves through every outcome - which allows for more lightness, alignment, and an effortless flow with life to naturally emerge.
I think this will resonate most deeply with the kinds of people who have felt that something important has been missing in both modern life and even many conscious spaces - and who are genuinely open to something more human, connected, grounded, real, and radically supportive.
The document itself has evolved far beyond what I originally thought it was going to be. In many ways, it feels like it has been writing itself.
I’m also writing it in a way that feels genuinely useful and alive on its own - something people can return to, reflect on, and practically apply within their own lives and relationships.
It touches on:
Identity: how it forms, how it evolves, and how to stop being unconsciously driven by it
Community and a culture rooted in real connection, growth, and shared humanity
Clean love for ourselves, each other, and life itself (not love as a survival strategy)
How to bring things into form without exhausting ourselves through fear and pressure
How life begins to feel and move when less is in the way
And simple reality, without so much distortion
What this is not
The Clearing is not many things but one of the main things I wanted to highlight is that nothing here is about trying to become some idealised version of ourselves that no longer reacts, feels, or moves through ordinary human life with al its twists and turns.
Unnecessary suffering can genuinely come to an end through awareness, direct contact with life, and seeing more clearly.
At the same time, life still happens, and the human survival system continues learning, adapting, reacting, reorganising and refining itself through experience.
The maturity is not pretending or believing nothing ever happens again or patterns never appear or re-appear.
The maturity is the ability to meet life as it is. Seeing whats arising earlier, identifying with patterns less, and allowing them to fall away before they harden into prolonged suffering, conflict, identity or rigid, destructive ways of being and acting.
So, life definitely remains human but it becomes so much lighter, more clearer, more connected, more playful, more joyful and far less burdened by unnecessary struggle.
What comes next
I’m enjoying giving this the space and time it deserves because it genuinely feels like something meaningful is unfolding here around life, connection, and what it means to be human beings together.
Once the document is ready - likely within the next couple of weeks - I’ll share it with you and begin opening some small live conversations and gatherings around it so we can start exploring this together in a real way.
For now, I just wanted to let you know what has been unfolding behind the scenes and where things are heading.
More soon.
Love,
Ryan

As always, thank you for sharing this work. It's truly profound, clean, even simple. But not easy...
Grateful for you
I can’t wait to read The Document. Thank you for sharing, Ryan x
